Heart-Warming Valentine Waffles

Begin the day with these sweet Valentine’s-themed waffles, turning breakfast into an engaging and fun family effort.

Ingredients:

  • Whipped cream, maple syrup, or even a dash of sprinkles.

Additional items:

  • Heart-shaped or Valentine’s-themed waffle maker.

  1. Follow the instructions for your waffle mix, or whip up your homemade batter.
    • Prep for easy pouring and allow your toddler to take the spotlight!
    • Tiny splashes are part of the fun!
  2. At a safe distance from your mixing station, plug in and preheat the waffle maker.
    • Keep those little hands busy with mixing while it heats!
  3. Your little one can grab a small measuring cup to scoop out the batter.
    • With caution and help from a parent, pour the batter into the waffle maker.
    • Stay close until those waffles are golden and fluffy!
  4. This step is for the parents—carefully remove the waffle and place it on a plate.
  5. Now, it’s your toddler’s time to shine!
    • Time to decorate and add their favorited toppings! Top their valentine masterpiece with fresh fruit, whipped cream, syrup, or sprinkles.

Time to Make Some “Pizza My Heart”!

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F

  3. Time for your toddler to take charge! Give your toddler a small piece of dough and a rolling pin to help roll it out.

    • Let them gently roll it out (not too flat) and hand them the heart-shaped cutter to press out your mini pizza shapes.

    • Enjoy the fun and a little bit of floury mess—it’s all part of the memory-making!

  4. Place the mini pizzas on a baking sheet and hand over a spoon to your little-chef. Have them spread on the pizza sauce.
    • Encourage thick dollops or careful swirls—it’s all creativity here!
  5. Let those little hands scatter the cheese all over their pizza hearts (and maybe sneak a taste).
  6. Set up a valentine toppings bar with everyone’s favorites! Tiny hands can carefully add heart-shaped pepperoni, veggies, or any other family faves.
    • We kept ours simple with some pepperoni slices.
  7. Bake to perfection! Parents, pop your mini pizzas in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes.
    • Keeping an eye out until the cheese is gooey and the crust is golden.
