Welcome to Moms on Call’s video: Baby Basics: Diapering [Introduction music and imagery displays] Hi, I'm Jennifer Walker from Moms on Call. Today, we're going to talk about diapering and how to keep the poop on the inside of the diaper. Come on, I'll show you. So the first thing we want to do is prepare the diaper, which means we almost have to kind of pop it open and then put our hand on the inside so we release this inner elastic. That's what keeps the poop on the inside. So now we're going to place this underneath the baby's bottom, and we're going to take this previous diaper off. And you'll clean this however you normally do at home. Right now, I just want to show you how to get this diaper on. The next thing we do is I want to release some of this elastic so you can hear it. And then we pull that all the way over. And then on this side, we do the same thing, release and pull. Depending on the size of the baby, we'll know how tight we need to make that. And then you can see that that outer elastic is out and the inner elastic is secure. You're doing great.
